That same year local architect H. M. Patterson built Mantle’s uptown commercial block and extensively remodeled this 1880s wood-frame home. Patterson, whose imaginative designs color many of Butte’s streetscapes, creatively adapted contemporary architectural forms. This striking brick-veneered home features a projecting bay with French doors, a rounded bay with curved glass windows, and a two-story porch supported by elegant Tuscan columns. Additional wings built in the 1920s reflect the change from a residence to a mortuary, which is now owned and operated by Duggan Dolan Mortuary.","sponsor":null,"accessinfo":"Private","lede":"","website":"","related_resources":["<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/b2694698-4c33-4e3d-b1f9-d8b8740bf6dc/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read about the Butte National Historic Landmark District</a>","<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/9ecb5fd7-e392-42a7-a16e-94df0f020422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See photos of the Butte National Historic Landmark District</a>"],"factoids":[],"files":{"https://storyofbutte.org/files/fullsize/97d7f25de992ac9fcca296740f13771b.jpg":{"id":2207,"mime-type":"image/jpeg","title":"Lee Mantle House","description":"Lee Mantle House (PAc 91-51 B1 Roll25 F33).
