Miners' Union Day Parade

Miners' Union Day Parade
Miners' Union Day was the biggest holiday in Butte in the period this photo was taken (ca. 1910). Parades and celebrations on this day indicated the power and solidarity of the Butte Miners Union. But as the union lost power to the Anaconda Company, rifts formed within, and eventually broke out into violence at the 1914 Miners' Union Day parade. | Creator: N. A.
