C.W. Goodale Residence, 900 W. Quartz

C.W. Goodale, ACM mining engineer and head of ACM’s Safety Bureau, began living in the north unit of this duplex as soon as it was built in 1900 by Charles Huff. From 1902 to 1906, John D. Ryan lived in the south unit (223 N. Excelsior). Ryan moved into the Hodgens’ residence at 105 N. Excelsior, which he had just acquired. Judge George Bourquin bought the property in 1906 and moved into the south unit. Goodale continued to rent and live in the north unit until 1923, when he moved into the Silver Bow Club. | Source: Fred Quivik, July 2025
