The Hennessy Building is the largest, but not the tallest, building in Uptown Butte. Its exterior is largely unchanged from when it was built in 1898. A vestibule was added to the Main Street entrance (once the entry into Hennessy’s Department Store) in the 1980s, when ARCO moved out and the Montana Power Company occupied the building.
